AntisyBot, our declared prospecting crawler

AntisyBot is the bot of Antisy Sàrl. It visits the public home page of Swiss companies to prepare a commercial approach, announcing itself clearly and keeping strictly within limits. Here is how to recognise it by its user agent, and how to opt out.

Who is AntisyBot?

AntisyBot is operated by Antisy Sàrl, a Swiss company entered in the Geneva commercial register (IT security, in defence only). It is used to build a list of companies that our commercial approach might interest.

It addresses legal entities only. It records company information — a domain, a public home page — and leaves aside information about natural persons (the name of a person, a direct line, a personal address). From that home page, it keeps only technical indications about the site, for example whether it offers a login or account creation.

The domains it visits come from company directories that the authorities publish for reuse. Antisy never guesses a domain from the name of a company.

How to recognise it: its user agent

AntisyBot identifies itself in each of its requests by a User-Agent header of its own:

User-Agent
AntisyBot/1.0 (+https://antisy.com/bot)
Name for robots.txt
AntisyBot

The address in brackets leads to this page. An administrator who finds this header in their logs knows where the visit comes from and whom to contact.

What AntisyBot does

  • It visits only the public home page of a domain, never the rest of the site.
  • It sends only one request per domain and per quarter.
  • It reads the robots.txt file before each visit and stops at once if access is refused to it there.
  • It also stops at once on a 403 or 429 response, and does not try again.
  • It announces itself by its User-Agent and never hides its origin.

What AntisyBot does not do

  • It never gets past an authentication, a CAPTCHA, an address block or a rate limit.
  • It does not use residential addresses and does not rotate its addresses to hide its origin.
  • It does not impersonate a browser.
  • It processes legal entities only, and keeps no information about named persons.
  • It keeps no copy of the pages it reads; it keeps only the result of the reading.

Ask for your domain to be removed

You can ask at any time for a domain to be removed from our list, without having to give a reason. Write to support@antisy.com, giving the domain concerned.

We remove the domain within 48 hours, and AntisyBot no longer visits it.

Without writing to us, you can also close your site to it: AntisyBot reads your robots.txt file before each visit.
